Welcome to P.L.A.Y., my blog of reflections on Professional Literature About Youngsters. The purpose behind this blog is to provide, from the perspective of a practicing classroom teacher, a forum for discussion of the theories that relate to teaching. My goal is to discuss one book every month. I do not intend to address every concept covered by the book, nor even necessarily the primary theme intended by the author, but instead my own reflections on aspects of the book that are relevant to me as a teacher. My writing style may vary from very abstract intellectualism to approachable and concrete with specific classroom examples (where parents and children have consented to allow me to do so), but will always be informed by my experience working with young children.
